The mediation we practice at Atlas is an informal process, to facilitate your negotiations in a confidential space, where you can create real workable solutions that work for everyone.
Mediation is gradually becoming a required step to take before embarking on the court process - for very good reason. An agreement everyone has shaped together has the best chance of working, and can include solutions that a court does not have the power to give.

Civil
Mediation works best before a claim is lodged in court, but it remains an available option at any point before trial. The earlier a Mediator is involved, the more time loss and anxiety is avoided. Atlas can assist in any civil issues, for example between landlord and tenant, claims for damages or personal injury or employment disputes.
Commercial
Commercial disputes can ruin business relationships, damaging reputations and profitability. Mediation offers a chance to meet face to face or communicate through a neutral with discretion. It may be possible to create understanding, identify common interests, and salvage a relationship or find a mutually agreeable way to move on. If Mediation produces a settlement agreement, it will be a legally binding and bring the dispute to a close.

Fostering an open dialogue, being clear about role expectations from the outset maximises the chance of a happy and productive workplace. Atlas can help at any stage of a workplace dispute. At the onset the potential options to repair the situation are widened. Where a grievance procedure has been initiated there is scope to manage the next stages without the stress and costs of going through the Tribunal process.
