Your Mediator
My name is Lorna Dubois
In short, I graduated with a first in law, having started out working on multi party personal injury case with a government department, and experiencing the conflicts of the family court. I went on to become a master of human rights law, working for several NGOs, undertaking academic research before gaining scholarship to qualify as a barrister. I went into litigation with an NGO and a high street legal aid firm before taking time out to raise a family.​
Seeing the realities of negotiations on the court doorstep, violent responses in the court room, and judgments that rarely achieve a sense of justice, I began to look for an occupation where I could help people find real solutions. ​​​
Lorna is capable of understanding different perspectives, engaging with clients in a non-judgmental manner with an understanding ear. Her style is warm, respectful yet hands on, engaged in facing the problem together.

Convinced that settling disputes de-escalates tensions and enables people to re-establish working and personal relationships, Lorna founded Atlas Mediation. She is;

Atlas
Atlas inspired us as a symbol of service and navigation. In greek mythology, the name derives from the word "enduring".

The story goes that Atlas, a wise and powerful Titan and founder of astronomy, was punished by Zeus for his role battling the Gods. Forced to hold up the heavens for all eternity, Atlas is usually depicted bearing the weight of our constellations.
